The Walt Disney Family Museum was one of the cool spots I hit up when I went to SF this past April! For those of you who know me….I loooooooooooove all things Disney! I was the crazy girl back in the day with the Disneyland annual pass, the girl waiting in line at 12am for the newest Disney flick, and the girl wearing her favorite Disney character t-shirt every
other week! I also freaked out royally when I booked my first Disney film with The Jonas Brothers and was able to go to the Walt Disney Studio Lot in Burbank. After countless auditions and callbacks on the studio lot (I would loiter around the lot after each audition just embracing the space where all the Disney magic happens and see giant posters of my favorite Disney movies!) No guys, this isn’t a paid Disney endorsement…I really am just cuh-razy for Disney! But hey Disney, if you ever wanna give me a job…I’m there! 😉
Alright, back to the crazy awesome Walt Disney Family Museum.
Walt Disney is no doubt a legend. He’s created beloved characters that will continue to be beloved for a lifetime. We went on a beautiful and breezy afternoon with endless blue skies!
It was awesome going to the museum and seeing Walt’s humble beginnings. Before he became the man behind the multi- billion dollar company, Disney. Walt and his family grew up on a farm and he immediately took an interest in drawing. He had failed numerous times and always said, “I think it’s important to have a good hard failure when you’re young,” before finally successfully creating the beloved character, Oswald and ultimately Mickey Mouse.
The museum showcased his upbringing, animator beginning, family life, creating his beloved characters, story lines for the uber successful Snow White-his first feature film that obliterated the box office and became a critical and audience hit, (as well as other shorts and films) and his vision for the theme park Disneyland!
Loved learning and seeing the amazing history and vision of Walt Disney!
So cool! They had a rendering of the restaurant menu on the Walt Disney studio lot. Can not believe most of the items only cost 10-60 cents!!!!
This room showcased his jump into Hollywood and how he started his company.
Get intrigued with the mechanics of the whole thing… #soinspiring
