Finally tried out Shake Shack!!!

Finally tried out Shake Shack! Every one always makes the big distinction about In N Out vs Shake Shack. In N Out has always been a favorite of mine!! But I had to try the super buzzy Shake Shack when I went to New York! Shake Shack began as just a food cart inside Madison Square Park in 2000. Restauranteur Danny Meyer finally established the first full standing Shake Shack in Madison Square Park in 2004. What began as a cart, was no more. Now each store averages more than US$4 million a year in sales (more than twice what Mcdonalds makes in a year in the States.) Since late 2014, Shake Shack became a publicly traded company. Now, that’s impressive!

You can read about Day 1 and Day 2 in NYC here!!

We ventured to the Shake Shack in Grand Central around 2 PM and it was buzzing with people. The Shake Shack store had such a long line that it was hard for us to even grab a table after we ordered (we all fanned out to try and find a table.)

But FINALLY (well worth the wait and a mini hunt for a table….the food arrived.)

I ordered the cheese fries US$3.99 (560cal.) I loved how crispy the crinkle cut fries were. In the past, the criss cut fries I usually order are generally more soggy, but these were great, crunchy and crispy!

We all went with meals, so three orders of regular crinkle cut fries US$2.99 (420 cal) for everyone else!

THE BURGERS!!! Dring went with the Double ShackBurger US$8.09 (855 cal.)

I went with the original ShackBurger US$5.29 (550 cal) and LOVED it!!! I’m still a fan of In N Out…loyal, forever and ever but I gotta give credit where it’s due. The ShackBurger beef patty was decadent, juicy and all around delicious. The bun had a nice, soft sweetness to it and I loved the melted thick cheese stuck perfectly on top of the beef patty. I demolished the burger, fries and coke zero happily!

This was such a great meal!!! Now that I’ve had it, I have to say it’s pretty different from In N Out (no comparison really!) Very glad to have tried it. I’ll be back, apparently I have to give the ‘Shroomburger or ‘Shroom Shack a chance.
