I recently just got back from a super fun (but fatty) trip in Singapore! For the first few days we stayed at K’s friends place. I really have to thank our wonderful hosts Irene and Andrew again. They were absolutely amazing hosts for hosting us, showing us and making us eat a whole lot of bomb ass food. The last 2 nights, we stayed at the beautiful InterContinental Singapore. The InterContinental Singapore sits right in the heart of Singapore. It’s a short 20 minute ride to the Changi airport, a brisk walk to and from our drinks and dinner spot and it’s filled with a lot of history.
The InterContinental Singapore hotel lobby lounge was bursting with colors and beaming with details.
The space was so beautiful...we had to stage a mini photoshoot there!
A sweeping view from of the Lobby Lounge at the Intercontinental Singapore. This picture was snapped during an off hour period. The afternoon tea time periods are crazy busy- every seat would be filled.
We got so lucky! The hotel just went through a massive renovation on all the rooms. So this room was just revamped a little over a year ago. 🙂 We got the Club deluxe room– where you can access the Club InterContinental lounge and basically go to the 2nd floor lounge anytime for a coffee/ tea break/ drinks/ snacks. But more on that later!
This is absolutely so sweet! 🙂 Fresh fruits and chocolates to welcome us.
After a great night’s sleep- we went to have lunch at Ash & Elm. Ash & Elm is a new European restaurant on the ground floor. It has a mini buffet lunch spread plus main course selection and is quite the steal. My lunch set including a drink (I ordered a watermelon juice) was under S$50 ~HK$286. At Ash & Elm can go for an appetizer and dessert buffet for S$28 ~ HK$160 and with a choice of main course would be S$38 ~HK$218.
We shared this delicious chorizo and peppers flatbread with Lynda! Thank you so much again 🙂
I ordered their signature Salmon fillet a La Plancha with grilled vegetables and basil pesto. It was nicely done- medium grilled, juicy, moist and tender.
K ordered the braised beef cheeks with carrots, mushrooms and pearl onions and it was really tasty. The beef cheeks was soft and tender and the sauce was rich and savory.
Then we checked out the dessert buffet selection. I went for some ice cream and fresh crepe. SOOOO FULL by this point.
We were lucky to have gotten the Club InterContinental lounge privileges. Every day we would go for some coffee, tea or snacks. We could come for breakfast from 6am to 10:30am (but never made it in time for that.) At night from 6pm- 8pm, we came for some complimentary cocktails- like the lovely Singapore Sling! Overall, it was a wonderful stay at InterContinental Singapore. We will definitely be back.
