Hennessy Artistry Event

I’m so grateful for a lot of things…and well I’m getting back on track! πŸ™‚ So, I was fortunate enough to be able to attend the Hennessy Artistry Event with Yu Jie. Thanks Cissy Jie!

I recently had a question from Casey (Thank you for reading!!!!!! I bumped into her as I was walking around Soho…and well you made my day.. smiley grin from ear to ear. I think people assumed I was crazy!! Seriously, thank you… so touched) about what I do to prepare for my events! Cause obviously you all know I love to eat…but days leading up to events/jobs/work…. πŸ™‚ I make sure I kick my booty and discipline myself :/ It’s a tough job. But someone’s gotta do it. πŸ˜‰

It’s all about indulging in moderation. My food blog posts aren’t the only food I eat. I do eat a lot healthier…. πŸ˜€

The week leading up….

I like tend to wake up early. My darn biological clock naturally likes to wake me up around 7 or 8 am πŸ™ It does have its perks. I get to see beauitful mornings like that….and just get a moment for myself before the busy day ahead. I do my usual morning routine…breakfast, emails, blogging, or some reading…and then….

Since I’m up already, why not be productive!?! πŸ™‚ The elliptical is my exercise of choice. I make sure I get my exercise in (especially on days leading up to a big job. I’ll be especially consistent), it keeps me feeling motivated, energized and completely gratifying!Β 

I’ll be honest. I’m not the biggest fan of exercise. It’s a struggle a lot most of the time…But every time I finish my workout…I never ever regret going. Instead, I feel uplifted, inspired and invigorated.

Mini goals are important. Baby steps, folks. Focusing on positive thoughts! πŸ™‚ Every little bit DOES help.

I drink an iced coffee, or hot cup of coffee to start my mornings. <3 Along with my vitamins. B Complex, Vitamin C & newly added to the mix a Ginger capsule (A friend gave it to me since I get sick so often!! Thank you….starting to incorporate it in!)

Lunch varies…but there will be a lot of clean eating for me. I make sure I load up on my veggies! I’m an especially big fan of certain starchier veggies like beets & pumpkins ( I LOVE the sweet potatoes, squash and pumpkin family!!!)- LOVEEEEE them!!! This was a salad from Dressed! And, it tasted uber refreshing!

I make an effort to have lean protein and loads of fresh fish! This was aΒ Seared Salmon w/ Spinach, Quinoa & Avocodo Salad from PURE RED post 1, and PURE RED post 2 after a workout, I was craving this!!

Green juices also make for a great breakfast!! (This one consisted of Kale, Green apples, honey, ice, water, & celery!) Blend them all together and your good to go <3 I also have eggs along with fresh fruits for breakfast!! Change it up a bit… life is all about variety!!!! <3 Fresh vegetables, fruits, and lean proteins are GREAT for keeping you full & feeling energized for the entire day.

I also drink a TON of water. Always have. πŸ™‚ If you eat with me. You know. I’m guilty for chugging water πŸ˜‰ Waiter’s don’t always like me because of that.

I cook too!!! πŸ™‚ SALMON bites is one of my favorite fish dish to make. It’s simple & quick. I season it with a bit of pepper, garlic, salt, Maggi soy sauce, and drizzle the pan with a trickle of olive oil…and your good to go! Add a soup/ salad on the side and it makes for an excellent meal! πŸ™‚

At the event, I end up feeling great! On the red carpet! :DDD

Had some Hennessy cocktails!! Mine was a cranberry mixed drink! Enjoying some music with Yu Jie πŸ˜€ Twas a wonderful work event!!

At the salon, we both had some small snacks from Pret a Manger…and after a great event, we were both starving!! Yu Jie COOKED for me ;)… a special home made buttered grilled cheese sandwich. We split one…and then another (IT WAS THAT GOOD!)….The picture doesn’t do the gooey cheesy sandwich any justice. πŸ˜‰ Auntie and Abu even got in on the action! We all curled up on the couch to watch a Chinese series…. a blessed day, indeed πŸ™‚
