Eat with Jess in …..BEIJING!!!!!!
Hello readers…..so for the new readers who recently just stumbled upon my blog! I’m so glad to have you reading. Even if its just for a few seconds (hopefully your on this blog for more than that)…I hope in some way I can inspire, amuse or just entertain you for a few minutes in your busy day 🙂
For those of you who don’t personally know me: I was shooting a film in BEIJING! I came back earlier last week but I learned so much on that trip. For one, I learned my body and mind can do incredible things. I was running on 3-4 hours of sleep a night. (Boy, did I catch up on sleep when I got back) and I grew up a little bit. It was my first work trip in a while and I was just glad to have had the experiences I did! 🙂 Will let you know more about my film…when it comes out! 😀 But without further ado…I give you my journey in BJ!
DAY 1: I arrived around 8pm…flight delays…and didn’t eat until midnight….I had to do a few fittings, meetings, and makeup demo before finally…..
Devouring this delicious bowl of Beef Noodles…The soup broth was BOMB! The noodles are a thick, rough cut…that almost melted in my mouth! First meal 🙂 VERY NICE.
Day 2: Our call time was moved to 9am! FIRST DAY ON SET!!! <3 During filming…there’s a LOTTTTTT of waiting. But we were lucky, since our first few days were filmed in a nice shopping complex in Beijing…with lots and lots of food!! <3
Script practicing… 😉 Posing? Haha, thanks so much Elaine for coming and capturing everything for me!! <3
Lunch…. ;)…..BURGER KING!!!! Hahaha I normally don’t order Burger King….but in Beijing, I did. Quite, a lot and dinner was Yoshinoya takeout!! <3
I get to drive in the movie!!
So, care to take a guess at my character in this movie?? 😉
Day 3: Filming at the mall complex again! Yipeeeee… <3
Yummmm….Elaine and I treated ourselves to this awesome Pizza at the Yummy Box Bar….SOOOO freaking good! Much better than a lot of pizza joints in HK….the pizza was a bit on the oily side though….as you can see. But, hey, I didn’t mind 😉
Heheheheheheh…You would’ve laughed too…looking at our playback! I think I was doing something silly! 😉
Seriously…a blast on set! Day 3 was just that, a blast! I was starting to get more used to the set life, makeup, hair, wardrobe, waiting…and finally filming…its so rewarding to have a good take and wrap up the night…with some Yoshinoya! Hahaha 😉
Day 4: OH MY GOSH…4AM Wakeup Call Time…..Not that I sleep much, but still…..it was completely pitch dark. I had friends messaging me in HK, saying they were still OUT! :O
Good morning…do you see my big eye bags?! I took a nap on the ride over..But good thing we had some Hot soy milk and assortment of Chinese baked goods waiting for us!
OMG…that’s right…4am wakeup call. My brain barely processed anything ….Brain dead…BUTTTT lucky us…
…we wrapped early for the day! And I found myself bingeing on my all time favourite tv series: FRIENDS...Thank you iTunes! Thx for the perfect gift…10 seasons of Friends, safely stored in my itunes! 😉
Day 5: A later set call time…1pm, so Elaine and I finally found ourselves getting some more authentic Beijing food…I REALLY wanted to get Peking Duck.… I mean we’re in Beijing…we had to.
YIPEEEE! Finally, I get that craving of Peking Duck fulfilled 🙂 Come into my belly!!!
Oh right..back to shooting.. 😉 Prepping for a scene…some snooker… 😉
I get kidnapped in one scene…BTS stuff! 😉
Bye GUYS!!! This was maybe a 1/4 of the crew having their dinner! Hard working crew!
But happy me...I was WRAPPED!!!!! <3 DONE DONE DONE… Yipee…..!!!!! WOO HOO!!! Happy me!!
The whole trip…I had one of the rice boxes...which honestly was not too bad!! Quite good..or maybe cause we were really hungry?!?
At night…we feasted on peking duck again and other Beijing delicacies!!! <3
Come into my Belly…again! 😉
Thank you everyone in crew, cast, production and Beijing for treating me so well! I had such a fun experience on set with you all! <3 But glad to be back in HK!!!! Can’t believe its July already. Crazy how fast time flies and things changes! 🙂 Here’s to many more new and awesome experiences.
<3 Always, Jess <3
