Restaurant Week is just around the corner!! What is this Restaurant Week!? Well here’s the 411. “The Restaurant Week concept gives diners the opportunity to try out restaurants at an affordable price, and restaurants to woo new customers by showcasing their cuisine in the form of a fixed price menu.” It’s a week long event! Remember the dates: 25 February to 3 March 2013!
I was fortunate enough to preview iL Posto’s Restaurant Week’s tasting menu! And, I have to say…..was it tasty! iL Posto 97 is part of the Epicurean Group and has a long history- opening first in December 1982, but this year, iL Posto is stepping it up with a new chef and new menu!It is a modern, contemporary, spacious restaurant serving authentic, delicious Italian fare in the heart of Lan Kwai Fung thanks to their new Chef…Chef Luca!! Awesome job on the new menu and food!

Warm bread basket… Soft Focaccia, Crispy Baguette, and Crunchy Breadsticks!
Seafood Salad, modern version of panzanella. Appetizer Insala di mare e panzanella, (Dinner) It’s a modern version of the Italian Panzanella salad. Full of tomatoes, thin slices of onions, and jumbo pieces of fresh seafood! Plump pieces of lobster, crawfish, fish, and squid. A fresh mix of different tangy, spicy flavors and textures!
Onion, Apple & Calvados Soup. Zuppa di Cipolle Mele E Calvados (Dinner) This was my favorite!!! It was so refreshing, full of sweet onions and flavorful broth! It had a delicious crunch with the grilled croutons….loved this dish!
Home Made Cavatelli Pasta, Guinea Fowl Ragu, Gran Capra Cheese. Cavatelli, Ragu Di Faraona e Gran Capra (Dinner). A hearty, thick home made pasta! The stock was fresh and light. And you can really taste the pasta and the goat cheese! It was tarty, strong and flavorful!!
Barramundi, Eggplant, Tomato Caponata, Parmesan. Barramundi Caponata di Melanzan e e Pomodori e Parmigiano (Lunch) This Australian fish was also really yummy! The skin was crunchy and crispy with a nice hint of pesto sauce! The fish was juicy, light and moist!
Dessert- Homemade Nutella Chocolate Cake, Salty Caramel, Hazel Nut Ice Cream, w/ Fresh Meringue OMG. Let me just say…Hats off to the Chef. I loved this dessert. It was a delicious, fresh, rich, and decadent. The hazel nut ice cream over the homemade nutella cake…was just amazing! There was a hint of salty crunch and flavors. The meringue was nice, soft and fluffy.
Chef Luca! Love your new menu and seriously, the food was amazing! Looking forward to coming back and seeing you again! Thank you so much, Chef! I will be back! Reserve early, people!!! <3
