Japanese/Sushi in Taipei: Addiction Aquatic Development

Addiction Aquatic Development is a must go-to place if you love fresh Japanese food at a reasonable price (IT’S SOOOOO MUCH CHEAPER THAN HONG KONG) in Taipei, Taiwan. Here’s another Travel with Jess post: all part of my recent trip to Taiwan!

Wait for it (drooling already? Cause I am.) As soon as you head into the entrance of Addiction Acquatic Development (try not to get distracted by all the marvelous sights around you-it’ll be tough), you need to head straight to the sushi bar area and grab a number ticket since there will definitely be a looong wait. We got lucky because we came with experienced people! Thanks N! After you get that coveted ticket- go back and explore the fresh seafood: rows and rows of sushi, groceries, fresh fruits, and even ceramics!

Wah…what’s in there?

IMG_7384

Fresh….

IMG_7386

SO FRESH…. I’ve died and gone to seafood heaven.

IMG_7390

There are other small eating stations and restaurants in this huge space- but the main shebang….

IMG_7391

…Is this!!!! The sushi bar eating area. It’s all standing and there is a very LONG wait. If you are hungry- pick up some of the fresh seafood from the grocery area and start eating away first!

OMG. Rows and rows of this……

And then we saw the glorious cases of sea urchin. 120 grams of uni for only TW$426, thats HK$102!!! So cheap. You can not find this price, quality or standard of sea urchin in Hong Kong.

Look at these glistening beauties. You bet I ate practically all of this! I think I shared one piece….whoops!

Then after another twenty minutes of waiting: we were in! SUCCESS!

IMG_7410

This was a sea urchin and yam dish– that was all mine! Ummm… uni overload? Nah…. 😉

IMG_7414

Uh oh…but more uni came! Uni handrolls…..!!

IMG_7417

I’m sooo happy! So so beautiful.

And then….every thing else we ordered. Feast your eyes…..I think we over ordered. The 3 of us were more than stuffed by the time we finished this!

A clam miso soup to finish off this awesome meal.

And we bought some take away fresh King Crab! TW$1100 (HK$263…wow, there was so much! It made the perfect midnight snack for us.) If I lived in Taiwan, I think I would be in big trouble because I would be here every other day! The seafood is definitely very fresh and affordable. It’s nothing spectacular but I love the concept, space and fresh Japanese food.

A MUST TRY WHEN YOU COME TO TAIWAN!!!
