So to celebrate the festivities, lets do a Eat With Jess in TAIWAN feature!


Hello there folks! TAIWAN EDITION! πŸ˜€ Wow. That flash really went off.


Jie and I ventured to a far far far away land. L’Idiot. Taipei, Taiwan…..Family. Parents πŸ™‚ Love. Oh…and how can I forget during the most wonderful time of the year- Christmas πŸ™‚ of course.

L’Idiot is a cute French eatery with colorful interior, donkey decor, cozy country cottage feel, and comfort French cooking. They offer an all day brunch menu which is supposedly very tasty. But since it was Christmas week…we had to do with their set menu.


Hello there. You, Pan Seared Foie Gras w/ Caramel Fig and Red Wine Grape Glaze! This thick slab of fatty foie gras rested nicely above refreshing fig slices, dripping in fig sauce.


Warm Christmas Salad- Romaine Lettuce, Tomato, Asparagus, Turkey, Pine Nuts, Pumpkin Cream Sauce – The salad was quite small, plain and bland. But still a nice precursor to the good stuff.


Lobster Bisque w/ Cheese Ravioli- This picture doesn’t do the bisque much justice. Hot, creamy, cheesy lobster bisque with plump spinach and cheese wontons πŸ™‚ I happily cleaned my bowl πŸ™‚


Pan Seared Fresh Lobster w/ Grilled Sirloin Steak, Asparagus & Garlic Confit (NT $2000)- My mom ordered this and luckily couldn’t finish it. Which is where jie and I came in πŸ™‚ The lobster meat was plump, buttery, and juicy. The sirloin steak was nice and tender. Could have used a bit more sauce or mustard. The whipped mashed potatoes….GOOD STUFF πŸ˜‰


Roasted Spring Chicken w/ Cheese Risotto- Parmesan Cheese & Truffled Mushroom Sauce (NT $1500)- Jie and I both ordered this and to our dismay….it was delightful. The chicken was succulent, savory and moist…..The outer skin was nicely grilled and seasoned with a subtle truffled mushroom sauce….it was ‘winner, winner…chicken dinner’ πŸ˜‰


Pan Seared Fresh Lobster w/ Carrot Uni Risotto-Clam & Honey Mustard (NT $1800)- Babi’s dish was the one to beat though. The lobster= AMAZING. The carrot uni risotto on the other hand was out of this world!!!! :)))) I don’t even know how to describe how good it tasted!


Mixed Berry Chocolate Christmas Ornament- The desserts at L’Idiot are all uniquely made. And inside my green tea orb was a refreshing raspberry sherbet! πŸ™‚ The pink dried marshmallows had this fun flavor and texture! Solid dessert, for sure! πŸ™‚


We were laughing at something really funny. I swear. πŸ™‚ Jie, Me, & Mami! <3

Topped it off with the best ‘first day in Taiwan’ ending. Movie with the folks! Popcorn and diet coke! πŸ˜‰ HAHA. All cozy, warm, and bundled up to watch a movie!!
