Later today, I’ll have the pleasure of working with Film Aid.. again. Check out my Film Aid X Fiona Kotur Luncheon Post Here. 🙂 YIPEEE! They’re such a great cause! So, I thought it was fitting to use this..for today’s post!
On a side note…my phone was stolen last night!!!!! 🙁 So, please excuse my lateness in replies (I might not even know you messaged me)…but please facebook message, email, or skype me!! 🙂 Self reminder- be grateful and thankful to have even had a phone 😉 It’s just a phone…Jess… Ok, COOL. Lets begin.
The glitz, the glamour, the grandeur, as well as some grand food. It may sound like the teaser for The Great Gatsby, but no! I’m talking about the Film Aid Gala! Film Aid hosts an amazing gala every year (among other side ventures) and this year was no exception. Another fun filled night to raise money for a good cause. Film Aid uses “the power of film and media to transcend language and literacy, bringing life-saving information, psychological relief and much-needed hope to refugees and other communities in need around the globe.” Films are a great form of escape, entertainment, relaxation, information and power.I love that they screen films for countless refugees camps…just think how powerful and life changing that is. How awesome is that!
Getting all dolled up 🙂 Thank you Cecilia Yau for such a stunningly beautiful dress!!!
My gorgeous cousins..Wei Ge, Moi, Cissy Jie, & Cheung! <3 Love you guys to bits.
Pretty in Pink 😉
Sponsored by Moet & Chandon… 🙂 Perfect.
Bread…& Cheese, (Oh. And Butter). The perfect combo. Fresh, hot sourdough bread with cheese already melded inside…..Soooooo good.
A nice refreshing appetizer…From what I can recall, a Beet root salad w/ Black truffle jelly!! It was fresh and light accompanied with the tiniest dab of black truffle jelly sauce…. 🙂
A very generous portion of foie gras pate sandwiched between crisp bread! 🙂 The jelly was sweet and tart-y. Dab a little with the strong, musky pate…and it’s a pretty pleasant pairing!
I picked the Grilled Sea Bass, w/ mashed potatoes, and bamboo shoots. It was a thick, juicy piece of bass. 😉 Loved the lightness and crispness of the skin. It was simple yet flavourful! 🙂 Did not make me miss the fact that I didn’t order the ‘Meat’ main. The whisked mashed potatoes were light, fluffy and slightly buttery….yummy!
Action superstar Donnie Yen presenting & Hollywood Starlet Uma Thurman! 😀 <3 Awesome!!
These cute milky yogurt-y drinks w/ a sugar cookie!! <3 Among loads of other un-pictured petit fours for desserts!! I was pretty full by this point, so only had a few berries and the yogurt drink! 🙂
And, saw Mr. Barney Cheng!! :))) My fave….My Alpha Group Leader!!!!
Such an amazing night!! And later today…I’ll be working with Film Aid again!! YAY :DD To be continued….
Think positively. Always. 🙂 Or, try to?!
<3 Always, Jess
