It’s MARCH!!! Woah…time sure flies, it was JUST February! Anyway, Vegetarian Fare, healthy foods are definitely on the rise in HK! 😀 One lovely Friday lunch 4 girls (Cissy Jie, Yu Jie, Jie and moi) ventured to the district of Wong Chuk Hang to try their new veggie friendly eatery… MUM.
Hello there! 🙂 MUM is inside a complex warehouse cafe in Wong Chuk Hang. It’s mainly a Japanese/Western inspired menu that’s completely organic and veggie- centric! Rusty grey- silver chairs and wooden tables line the place giving it a very earthy, casual, and laid back vibe. As of now, their menu’s change weekly.
Creamy Potato Salad (included in your set lunch)….this was decadent, rich and stocked with chopped carrots, balck sesame, cilantro and taro. (Asian influenced!)
Five Seasons Soup-(included in your set) The broth was delicious! Refreshing, light and warmed me right up. It was filled with tofu, corns, yams, tomatoes and shitake mushrooms! You can choose between this soup…OR…
Hearty Cream of Mushroom Soup– (included in your set) Not your typical cream of mushroom soup…I don’t think they added any other ingredients besides pepper and some cilantro mix!
I ordered the…’ Aromatic Steamed Egglant with Pearl Grain Rice, Tamagoyaki, house pickle, kimchi and kombu salad, and a veggie miso soup!’ I loved the soy infused eggplant. It was the perfect amount of seasoning and tasted both light and refreshing! (Only thing was it came with about 4 pieces of eggplants….overwhelming the big bowl of rice!)
Cissy Jie had ‘TODAY’S SPECIAL’- ‘Crispy Marinated Tofu w/ ‘3’ Miso Broth & Buckwheat Noodles‘.
Hummus Salad- Hummus, Tomato, Potato, Boiled Egg, Bread, Mixed Leaves, Honey Lemon Olive Oil Dressing– Hummus is a Middle Eastern spread made from mashed chickpeas, olive oil, and some seasonal. It was “Hummy!” Get it?! Yummy…and Hummus 😀 Ok, Ok…I’ll stop!
Caprese Salad! Simple, classic Buffalo Mozarella Salad.. Nothing spectacular….
We were still hungry…so we also added an unpictured pizza…which I should have taken a picture of…since it was
one of the highlight(s) of this meal! Flaky, crunchy crust…cheesy, greasy goodness! 😉 But, hey…it was topped with veggies! Slightly healthier 😉 But overall, it was just alright for me! It left me still feeling hungry!
We were craving dessert…and then….we magically scored free gelato at Todini Caffe (food post coming soon)! Cheers, to more Cousins lunches!
