Japanese…. 🙂 One of my favorite cuisines. I’ve been to Nadaman several times before but I’ve always failed to blog about it. So, finally, I got the chance to go again and this betcha I had my iphone 5 with me. 😉

Here’s some of my previous Japanese dining posts: Rei (post), Inagiku (post), Sushi Take (post 1), Sushi Take (post 2), Sushi Shin (post), Sushi Kuu (post) & Wagyu Takumi (post) .

Nadaman is deeply nestled inside the luxurious Shangri-La Hotel in Admiralty. In Japan, a bevy of Nadaman restaurants continue to satiate diners since 1830, Shangri- La Hong Kong continues that tradition by being homes to the first overseas Nadaman in their Kowloon and Hong Kong island 5-star hotels. They are famous for their traditional multi course dinners known as kaiseki cuisine. They also serve sushi, teppanyaki (DELISH), set dinners and many more. Upon walking in the long corridor, you feel as if you are taken back to a different realm- where the staff are dressed in fine pressed kimono’s, elegant, refined, dark bamboo and wooden decor line the spacious restaurant. It’s traditional Japanese fine dining at it’s best.

YUMMY Tamago… 😀 Eggs galore. You can tell, Im a very happy girl.

We start the evening off with….

Hiyashi Tomato- Chilled Japanese Tomato $100. This was definitely not as good or sweet as I was expecting AND it was OVERPRICED…and this is two people’s portion. 4 thin slices of tomatoes…for $200!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!

Nadaman Salad w/ Home Made Dressing $65. I love this salad…it’s simple cabbage with some crunchy sweet raw radishes, but OH so satisfying. The home made dressing is incredible. It’s sweet, tangy, sesame infused with a hint of nuts!! Chowed it right up!

Hirame -Flounder $70. Thin sweet pieces of flounder fish…..Practically melts in your mouth!

Nadaman Assorted Sashimi/ 灘萬雜錦生魚片拼盤 But we picked what we liked!! Scallops, Otoro, Sweet Shrimp, Ark Shell, & Uni (Sea Urchin) of course!!!! :DDDD Fresh, delicious, sweet, juicy and oh so gooooooood!

We ordered the ‘Chawan Mushi/Steamed Egg Custard’ $70. But I forgot to take a picture. This is the Japanese Omelete though…I love me some Tamago. It was light, sweet, perfectly fluffy and slightly moist and juicy! 😀 Served with a dap of the sweetened mashed radish…Perfect!

Some Sushi….Aji-Horse Mackerel Sushi (Left) $65 and Ikura- Salmon Roe Sushi (Right) $50…. Mmmmmmm

Beef Sukiyaki (Sliced Australian Wagyu Beef Tenderloin w/ assorted vegetables cooked in an iron pot with sukiyaki sauce, rice, pickles and soya bean soup…Wagyu Beef $1050…. The picture doesn’t do any justice to the deliciousness of this dish. The medium pink wagyu beef strips melts as it hits your mouth. It’s soft, juicy, sweet and I haven’t even gotten to the sukiyaki soup broth yet. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this stuff. The cooked onions, cabbage, spinach all soak in the sweet sukiyaki sauce flavour. Awesome-ness.

The food is simply put….delicious, service is spectacular and the food (once again) is perfect…It’s great fine dining for a reason. Be prepared to have it set you back a pretty penny. In other words- it’s expensive.
