Afternoon tea 103 floors up at the Ritz Carlton! I’ve been wanting to try the Pierre Herme afternoon tea set since I heard they set up shop at the lobby at the Ritz! 103 floors up on a beautiful sunny day- we made a last minute booking and secured seats at the luxe and comfortable Cafe 103.
We sampled the Satine Afternoon tea set which will set you back $388 a person! 🙂 There’s a LOT of sweet as well as savoury pastries on the menu. I went with their Satine black tea which is flavoured with passion fruit and orange essence.
A killer magnificent view to boot!
This was my favourite pastry by far. The Chou Satine | Choux pastry, passion fruit crumble, orange marmalade, passion fruit mascarpone cream, cream cheese mascarpone cream, shortbread pastry. It resembled a pineapple bun that you can get at your local bakery but it was filled with the most moist and creamy passion fruit cream. I loved the crumble that really gave this pastry its crunch, crisp and bite! 🙂 I want another one….now.
Savoury pieces! Herbed smoked salmon on top of a dark rye bread sandwich. (behind) is a lemon curd and seafood mousse lemon carrot bread Swiss roll with crab roe to resemble a siu mai! YUM.
The Herme Carre Satine….its basically a passion fruit and orange compote, cream cheese mascarpone cream, enrobed in white chocolate flavoured with vanilla gently on a breton shortbread biscuit!!
Lots of goodies to choose from!
We were still a bit hungry so we went to the Lobby in between Tosca to order more from their a la carte menu! Twas a great mid week afternoon.
