Power of Prayer
If you came looking for a food post. Your not going to find it here. At least not today.
I’m new at this. I’m growing and learning every single day. The first day I felt a real change was perhaps sitting in the back row at Island ECC and watching a film clip of ‘Evan Almighty’– listening to Pastor Albert Ng passionately speak about how ‘God Always Answers Prayers *But Not Always the Way We Want*‘ (Give it a listen!)
In the film… Evan Almighty wanted to change the world. God replied “Change the world with one random act of kindness every day”. Oh, and God also wanted him to build a modern day’s Noah Ark 😉 (How could I forget that!) And he answered them. Maybe not the way Evan wanted it to be answered- but they were answered.
Pastor Albert then speaks about how we pray and how “God has answered our prayers way more than when he denies us”.
I think we forget how lucky we are. How blessed we are. How trivial our problems may be.
And in light of the Connecticut School Shooting, I just pray for the victims, families and friends.
President Obama ‘Offers Newtown ‘Love and Prayers of a Nation‘
“I come to offer the love and prayers of a nation,” the president said. “I am very mindful that mere words cannot match the depths of your sorrow nor can they heal your wounded hearts. I can only hope it helps to know you are not alone … and that all across this land we have wept with you.”
We all pray.
Happy Holidays!! I’ll be back to normal food blogging tomorrow. 🙂
